Channthy Cha Cha was a band designed entirely by Channthy – she picked the players and the songs, arranged the gigs and ran the rehearsals. We played at many of her favourite venues in Phnom Penh, in her village in Prey Veng, festivals in Sihanoukville and Siem Reap, and even live to air on CTN.
This show – a gig on May 13 2017 at the French Institute – is the only audio record of this highly energetic and authentic Cambodian rock’n’roll band. Channthy is relaxed, charming, humble and as always excited to share her love of music: “Please come dancing all together!”
Note: bonus tracks are not on the CD version of this album. They are more bootleg quality but were included for completeness.
